MATTRESS FUNDRAISER THIS SATURDAY!
This Saturday, May 2nd, the Gahr HS MPR will be transformed into a mattress showroom featuring name-brand beds in all sizes and styles — plus adjustable bases, frames, luxury pillows, sheets, and mattress protectors from some of the best manufacturers in the industry! Everything is made to order, comes with a full manufacturer warranty, and is offered at 40–60% below retail prices.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to purchase a small equipment trailer, which will help reduce our reliance on U-Haul rentals – and we need YOUR HELP to make it happen!
Referrals = Success! Referrals are the KEY to making this fundraiser a success, and we need everyone’s help! Please text and email student’s referral flyer to ALL your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors — anyone who might need a new mattress!
IMPORTANT: You are NOT allowed to pass out referral flyers on the day of the fundraiser.
💥 Every referral counts — and your student earns money for every sale they bring in.
How Students Can Earn Money:
Referral flyers are available in the Band Room or you download it by clicking here. Write or type your name at the bottom of the flyer. Each flyer acts as a $50 OFF coupon, and you will receive credit for any sale connected to your referral. You can even text it or blast it out on social media, and as long as your name is on the referral flyer, you’ll still get credit for the sale.
Students can earn money toward their individual band account based on referrals:
• 1 sale = $50 credit
• 2 sales = $100 credit
• 3 sales = $200 credit
• 4 sales = $300 credit
• 5 sales = $500 credit
Once you get just one referral sale, you’ll be entered in a raffle for brand new AirPods!
Team Bonus: Students will form teams of 5. If each member of the team gets just ONE referral sale, every student on that team earns $100 each.
Grand Prize Drawing: Every referral sale gets you entered to win a PS5, Xbox Series X, iPad, 65“ Flat Screen TV, Beats By Dre Headphones, $300 Gift Card, or other top prizes!

CONGRATS ON A GREAT DAY AT THE CANYON JAZZ FESTIVAL!
Fantastic day for Gahr Jazz I & II at the Canyon Jazz Festival! Both ensembles delivered strong performances and received outstanding clinics that gave our students valuable feedback and inspiration to keep growing as musicians. We also had the special opportunity to watch the incredible Ryan DeWeese RAD Jazz Orchestra!
Congratulations to Jazz I on earning 3rd Place in the Heavy Division, and to Jazz II on taking 1st Place in the Novice Division! Thank you to everyone who came out to support, and a special thank you to the parents who helped carpool students from the Cerritos College Honor Band rehearsal to make the day possible. We’re proud of our students and excited for what’s ahead – next up, the RCC Jazz Festival in less than two weeks!
DRUMLINE WORKSHOPS START NEXT THURSDAY!
Gahr High School Drumline Workshops are the perfect opportunity for future drumline and front ensemble members to jump in and be part of something exciting! Learn rhythms, technique, musicianship, and performance skills. No prior experience is required – we’ll teach you everything you need to know. Whether you’re interested in battery or front ensemble, now is the perfect time to come check it out, meet new friends, and join an award-winning program. Our first workshop is Thursday, May 7th from 3:30-6:00PM in the Gahr Band Room!

GAHR AREA CONCERT – NEXT WEDNESDAY 5/6 🎶
The Gahr Area Concert is next Wednesday, May 6th at 6:30PM in the Gahr HS Gym! Both the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will be combining together, and we will be joined by Ross MS, Haskell MS, Tetzlaff MS, and many of our elementary feeder schools.
Admission is FREE, but you can support the program by purchasing raffle tickets! Throughout the evening, we’ll be raffling off our gift baskets – including a family four-pack of tickets to Disneyland!
