Jazz BAnd

The Jazz Band is a performance-oriented ensemble designed for serious, dedicated musicians by audition only. Students get a "real-world" experience playing challenging music, and are introduced to a wide array of music including big band, swing, bebop, Latin, funk, and rock.

Students complete the course with a higher level of performance skills and musical knowledge. The Jazz Band plays at basketball games, pep rallies, concerts, festivals, and gigs throughout second semester.

Jazz Band meets zero period and starts promptly at 6:30AM. Let Mr. Loney know if you are interested in auditioning for the Jazz Band. We have instrumentation for alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, electric guitar, electric/upright string bass, vibraphone, and drum set. Students must already posses basic sight-reading skills and musicianship.

All students must enroll in the Marching Band (Course #1720) to participate.
