JAZZ BAND UPDATES
Tomorrow, Thursday, October 12, the Gahr High School Jazz Band will be traveling to perform at the ASCA Leadership Assembly to represent ABCUSD. We have a rehearsal TODAY from 3-4:30PM to finalize our pieces. CALL TIME IS 5:45AM WEARING ALL BLACK CONCERT ATTIRE + JAZZ TIES. GO TO BED EARLY AND DO NOT BE LATE. The assembly is located at the LAX Sheraton Gateway Hotel - 6101 W Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
On Monday, September 25th, the jazz bands from Tetzlaff, Whitney, and Gahr saw the U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note at the Irvine Barclay Theater. This was the first time in over a decade the Airmen of Note have traveled to California, and the students had a great time listening to live jazz music!

Congratulations to the students who were selected to star in the filming for American Greetings! The students acted professionally and did a great job representing Gahr and ABCUSD. We will let you know when the project is finished!
3RD DONATION OF $125 PAST DUE
The 3rd donation of $125 was due last Thursday, October 5th in the Drop Box. We cannot pay our instructional staff or for field show competitions without your donation. Checks are made payable to "Gahr Band Boosters." If you are making a cash payment, please get a receipt from Mr. Loney before turning it into the Drop Box. You can also make an online payment here.
BOOSTER UPDATES & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Thank you to everyone who came to last week's meeting to debrief the Gahr Invitational Field Show and go through upcoming events! We had a great turn out and appreciate everyone's feedback so we can make the next tournament even better. There are two areas we need help with on Saturday:
1. We are serving lunch "walking tacos" lunch from 12-1PM for the Saturday practice. We need the following donation items:
- 2 cans of nacho cheese (6 lb can)
- 2 cans of chili beans (6 lb can)
- 1 large sour cream (5 lbs)
- 15 lbs of ground beef
2. We are having a FLAG SEWING PARTY this Saturday from 1-5PM in the Drama Room! We need your help cutting, ironing, and sewing the flags. Please bring an iron and sewing machine if you have one, and we will teach you everything you need to know! Please contact Rocio Guzman firstname.lastname@example.org if you are able to help out.
The eWaste drive we had planned for Saturday is going to be rescheduled. Please hang onto your old electronics items and stay tuned for an update! We are trying to reschedule for Saturday, October 28th.

8:30PM Awards. GAHR IS A CLASS ACT ON AND OFF THE FIELD. STUDENTS & PARENTS - PLEASE CLAP FOR ALL BANDS AND BE RESPECTFUL IN THE STANDS.
