The 2nd payment of $125 is due this Friday, September 6th in the drop box. Checks are made payable to "Gahr Band Boosters." If you are making a cash payment, please get a receipt from Mr. Loney before turning it into the drop box. You can also make a payment online here. We cannot pay our instructional staff or for field show competitions without your donation. Please communicate with Mr. Loney if you have any issues with your financial obligation. Thank you.
Thank you so much to all the parents who came to our Kick-Off Booster Meeting last Wednesday! If you missed it, our next full booster meeting will be Wednesday, October 2nd. We would also like to thank all the parents who helped with the football game concessions, dinner Friday, lunch on Saturday, the sewing party, and who have been working on the props behind the scenes. Join us this Saturday from 9AM-5PM for a prop painting party (during the student rehearsal).
POPCORNOPOLIS UPDATE 🍿
Thank you for your participation in the Popcornopolis Fundraiser. All students should have picked up their popcorn orders and distributed to the people you sold to. If you are missing any popcorn or there are any errors, please let Mr. Loney know ASAP.
7TH PERIOD MARCHING BAND SCHEDULE
Rehearsals start on time, so please use the restroom and change immediately after school. Make sure you bring dinner to eat before Tuesday night practices. The normal weekly practice schedule is as follows:
- Mondays 3:00-5:00PM (music focus)
- Tuesdays 5:00-8:15PM (visual focus, usually at the stadium)
- Thursdays 3:00-5:30PM (ensemble focus)
- Saturdays 8:30AM-5:00PM (bring $5 for lunch)
SATURDAY REHEARSAL 9/7
We have an important marching band rehearsal this Saturday, September 7th from 8:30AM-5PM. This will be a similar schedule to a day of Band Camp and we will have lunch available for just $5. PARENTS: Please click here for the sign ups for Saturday's lunch. ALL MARCHING MEMBERS (WINDS, BATTERY, GUARD) NEED A DOT BOOK & PENCIL FOR ALL REHEARSALS.
Thank you to everyone who came to our first few jazz rehearsals! Your daily homework is to practice this pieces we've handed out, LISTEN TO JAZZ, and work on improvising with tracks on YouTube. The normal jazz rehearsal schedule for first semester is as follows:
- Mondays 6:30AM-7:40AM (rhythm section only)
- Tuesdays 6:30AM-7:40AM (wind players only)
- Wednesday 3:00-4:00PM (sectionals)
- Thursdays 6:30AM-7:40AM (full jazz band)
