Band & Percussion Workshops are Tuesday, June 21st & Thursday, June 23rd from 5-8PM in the Gahr HS Band Room (703). If you are a new student, please arrive early so we can check you in. Workshops are mandatory for all wind players and percussionists (no color guard) and where your band student will learn marching & playing basics, receive music for the field show, and reserve their spot in our 2016 production! We will also place percussion students in the battery (marching snare, tenors, bass) or front ensemble (mallet instruments, electronics, concert percussion).
Winds & Battery have a three-day Mini-Camp - from August 8-10th. All percussionists (Battery & Front Ensemble) have a week of evening rehearsals from July 25-29th, 5-9PM each day. Battery will also have additional evening practices throughout the summer, typically on Tuesday evenings. Color Guard students will have practice June 28-30th, as well as July 19-21st. Please see the attached Summer Practice Schedule for the exact days/times for your section or visit www.gahrband.org/calendar.
Band Camp for everyone (including Color Guard) starts on Monday, August 15th. We will be sending out a newsletter with all the information for Band Camp. Band Camp is Mandatory for all students to participate in the fall production.
We are excited to announce that the Gahr Marching Gladiators will be traveling to fabulous Las Vegas from Friday, October 28th through Sunday, October 30th! This will be a fun, performance trip for the entire marching band as we perform our 2016 field show production and represent Gahr High School out-of-state! Click here for more information or to pay the $75 deposit.
All students must have completed an Athletic Clearance Packet available from Dulce Caldwell in the front office of the school. As part of the clearance, students must get a physical exam (available for $10 from the walk-in clinic across from Gahr HS that usually takes only 5-10 minutes). If you do not turn in a clearance packet, you will not be enrolled in marching band.
