We would also like congratulate the Winter Guard on debuting their 2016 production, "REWIRED," at the WGASC Orange County Invitational! They placed 4th in the Scholastic AAA Division. Thank you so much to all the parents (both guard and band) who came to help and support the color guard!

MONTHLY BOOSTER MEETING WEDNESDAY 3/2
This Wednesday is our monthly parent booster meeting at 6:30PM in the Gahr High School Band Room (703). We have a lot of fundraisers coming up - including our 80s Night Dance on Saturday, May 7th. Meetings are always warm and welcoming, and all parents are encouraged to attend. See you there :)

WINTER GUARD: WGASC LA/VENTURA INVITATIONAL THIS SAT 3/5

On Tuesday, March 8th, we are having an important 8th Grade Showcase Night for all of us to be at - band, percussion, and color guard. Wear your blue Gahr Marching Gladiator hoodies / Color Guard jacket and jeans. Jazz Band will perform in the MPR for the welcome meeting at 5:45PM. Indoor Percussion will have an open rehearsal during the normal time from 5-8:30PM. Everyone else will be helping with an information booth, walking around passing out flyers, or running a hands-on color guard demo. This is a huge recruiting opportunity.
ABCUSD BAND FESTIVAL 3/16
On Wednesday, March 16th, both our Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will be performing at ABCUSD Band Festival in the Whitney High School Performing Arts Center! Admission is free. Parents, please come to support your student and listen to what they’ve been working on! Concert Band has a 4:00PM call time with a 5PM performance; Wind Ensemble has a 6:00PM call time with a 7:00PM performance. Concert attire is all black - solid, long sleeve, collared, black, button-up dress shirt, black slacks (no jeans), black socks, black belt, and black dress shoes. Ladies may wear a long, black concert dress/gown (no skirts), black flats/shoes, and appropriate jewelry. Following each band’s on stage performance, there will be a clinic with an adjudicator. Family and friends are always encouraged to follow the band into the clinic room to hear the comments and constructive criticism. CONCERT BAND - Please bring $5 for pizza dinner/hang with Tetzlaff Middle School, followed by watching the Wind Ensemble.

WINTER GUARD - WGASC LA/Venture Invitational @Monrovia HS
10:29am- Call time. DO NOT BE LATE. Eat a good breakfast before you arrive. Meet at Gahr High School IN UNIFORM, shoes, hair and makeup done. Load floor, props, equipment.
11:30am- Depart for Monrovia High School (845 W Colorado Blvd., Monrovia , CA 91016)
ALL PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO HELP WITH EQUIPMENT AND TAKE/CARPOOL STUDENTS. DO NOT ASSUME YOUR STUDENT HAS A RIDE.
12:30pm- Arrive at MHS. Unload floor, props, and equipment. Use restroom in groups of 2 or more.
12:45pm- Line up and wait for Lynsey at guard check in. Proceed to warm up area.
1:00pm- Warm up.
2:35pm- Walk to performance entrance
(After the performance members must exit the gym, quickly fold the floor and organize equipment as the following group will be exiting the performance area and folding their floor. Parent volunteers needed to lift floor and take it outside.)
3:15pm- Talk, pack up props and equipment, load. During this time eat, relax and watch your competitors. Please remember you are representing your school at all times. We are a class act on and off the floor.
3:25pm- Awards ceremony
3:45pm- Depart for Gahr High School. Once arrived, unload floor, props, equipment.
5:00pm- Approximate dismissal
