Gahr Takes Gold at California State Grand Championships!

11/23/2014

Congratulations to the Gahr High School Marching Gladiators on another award-winning field season! After qualifying for the California State Band Championship Finals, Gahr won the Division 4 Championship! Gahr High School advanced to California State Grand Championships and took home the Grand Champion Trophy, Gold Medal, and $3,000 cash prize! Gahr junior flutist Sayra Rosales received the Outstanding Soloist Award and earned a $500 scholarship.

The students of the Gahr Marching Gladiators have worked incredibly hard this season. The marching band grew to 94 members, many sections more than doubling! Over half the band - 53 students - were freshmen or first-year members of the group. This is only the second year since Gahr High School has restarted its competitive marching program.

The honor of being named the 2014 California State Band Grand Champion is a crowning milestone for our organization and an achievement that is the result of the hard work and collective efforts of our students, instructors, alumni, parents, and community. Thank you to our instructional staff whose daily efforts bring out the best in each of our student performers. A huge thank you to our amazing booster parents for their dedication and commitment to our students.
